Average Weekly Earnings (AWE) Amounts
If an employee who is on parental leave receives a salary change in their HR record, a warning message shows when you calculate payroll. The warning notifies administrators to review the employee's AWE amounts in the Leave Management screen and recalculate the pay run if necessary. This applies to both Statutory Maternity Pay and Statutory Adoption Pay.
Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) Amounts
If an employee becomes eligible for SMP due to a salary increase, they are paid the amount due from start of their maternity leave. However, because the employee will have received the Statutory Maternity Allowance direct from Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), Dayforce deducts the appropriate amount from any amount due to ensure that the employee does not receive double payments of SMP. However, if an employee receives a backdated amount of SMP, Dayforce does not include the amount when calculating Occupational Maternity Pay.
Based on the amount of Maternity Leave taken and SMP amounts in question, Dayforce performs the correct calculations to ensure that the employee receives the correct amount of SMP, and prevents double payment of SMP.
