You can configure Dayforce to automatically suppress the following deductions from outstanding payments to employees who have died in service:
- National Insurance (NI)
- Student or Postgraduate (PGL) loans
When you configure this functionality, the application also no longer generates P45 forms (Details of employee leaving work) for these employees.
To configure the application to suppress these deductions for a deceased employee you must ensure that there is a value in the Date of Death field in the Employment > Employment Settings screen of the People feature, as shown in the following screenshot:
This field is displayed for all terminated employees. As long as this field contains an employee's date of death, the application will suppress any NI or student loan deductions from the employee's final pay and exclude the employee from the P45 process during the next pay run.
