Create Employee Data Mapping Rule for NMW Compliance

As part of configuring the Payroll Setup > Minimum Wage feature to assess compliance with the National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates, you need to create employee data mapping rules in HR Admin > Employee Data Mapping Rules. The rules ensure the applicable employees are mapped and included in the assessment when changes are made to their records.

You must create two mapping rules: one rule for salaried workers and another for timed workers.

To create an employee data mapping rule for the NWM feature:

1. Go to HR Admin > Employee Data Mapping Rules.
2. In the sidebar, click the add icon. The rule is added to the bottom of the list so that it doesn’t affect the rule sequence that is already configured. You can use the move up and move down icons to change its order in the list.
3. Update the details in the General section:
   1. Enter a name and description.
   2. Select the Active checkbox to publish the rule for use when you save. You can leave this checkbox cleared to save the rule as a draft, in which case the rule isn’t triggered.
4. In the Mapping Values section of the rule details, complete the following:
   1. Click Add.
   2. In the Mapping Object drop-down list, select Employee Property.
   3. In the ShortName-XRefCode drop-down list, select NMW Worker Category - NMWCategory.
   4. In the Value drop-down list, select Salaried Worker if you are creating a mapping rule for salaried workers. Or, select Timed Worker if you are creating a mapping rule for timed workers.
5. Click the arrow next to the rule in the left sidebar to expand the qualifier under it and select the qualifier.
6. In the Qualifiers section, add one or more mapping objects that define the qualifying employees for the NWM feature.
7. Click Save.

When you’ve created the data mapping rules for salaried and timed workers, you must assign the employee property NMW Worker Category and its applicable value to each employee record in the Employment > Employment Properties screen in People.
