You must set a schedule so that the Calculate Election Management background job runs at an interval that you want.
Important: You must schedule the background job to ensure that election management runs and applies updates.
This background job processes, calculates, and updates elections each time an event is generated for an employee that is related to a change in primary work assignment, employment status, or union, since the last time the job ran.
Note: During initial setup and testing, you can run this background job on-demand as needed for testing, and you can configure a schedule once you are ready to go live.
To configure the background job:
- Go to System Admin > Background Jobs.
- In the Available Jobs tab, locate and select Calculate Election Management.
- Click Schedule to open the Schedule Calculate Election Management wizard.
- In the Job Parameters tab of the wizard, click Next. This job requires no parameters.
- In the Schedule tab, select the frequency to run this job. For example, to set the background job to run every 15 minutes, select the Hourly option, and select Every 15 minutes in the Every drop-down list. If you select a Daily, Weekly, or Monthly frequency, be sure to specify the day and time that the scheduled background job will run each period.
- In the Effective From field, select a date and time for the job to start and, optionally, a date and time for the job to end, in the Effective To field.
- (Optional) Click Preview Schedule to confirm that the schedule settings are correct, and click Next.
- In the Confirmation tab, review the configuration of the scheduled background job, and then click Finish to save the background job.
