If you leave the DateOfFirstArrear field cleared for arrears transactions in the Employee Deduction Balance and Arrear Import, Pay Run History Import, and Employee Election Import, the import checks if the employee has an open arrears balance for the same deduction in Dayforce, and updates the transactions and balance of that record. The application does not replace the existing record. Moreover, if the import cannot locate an arrears balance for the deduction, it will create an arrears balance using the earliest start date in the transactions found in the import file.
