Dayforce supports pay calendars in the United Kingdom that are based on the 4-weekly (also known as lunar) pay frequency.
With the 4-weekly pay frequency, there are a minimum of 13 pay periods because of the different length of months in the year. For tax purposes, these periods align with tax weeks, as follows:
- Pay period 1 = Tax week 4
- Pay period 2 = Tax week 8, and so on
- Pay period 13 = Tax week 52
Note: Where applicable, there might be a year where a 14th pay period is required. This would equal tax week 56.
Because there are a minimum of 13 pay periods within the tax year, there will be two pay periods associated with 1 of the 12 tax months of the year.
Configuring and processing payroll for a pay group with 4-weekly frequency is similar to doing so for the other pay frequencies supported in Dayforce.
