You can click Sync Pay Changes in Pay Admin Checklist to recalculate employee pay when any of the following values in the Employment > Employment Settings screen in People are modified for an employee:
- Alternate Rate
- Annual Salary
- Average OT Rate
- Base Rate
- Vacation Rate
When you click Sync Pay Changes, the Sync Pay Changes dialog box opens. The dialog box contains all of the employees eligible for pay recalculation based on the last time a scheduled Pay Summary Recalc background job ran. The very first time that the Pay Summary Recalc background job runs or if it hasn’t been run in over a month, it looks back a maximum of one calendar month. For example, if you apply pay rate changes on March 1, 2023 and the Pay Summary Recalc background job was last run two months ago, the job runs from the current date (that is, March 1, 2023) and only looks back to February 1, 2023.
Depending on the changes that you want to synchronize, click WFM Retro Pay Changes or Payroll Autopay Retro Pay Changes.
Note: If you’re not assigned the Pay Information access authorization, Dayforce shows asterisks (that is, ****) instead of employee pay details in the Sync Pay Changes dialog box. To see employee pay details, you need at least Can Read permission.
For each employee, select an option in the Submit for Recalculation drop-down list:
- Approve: Submits the employee for pay summary recalculation. The recalculations won’t run if the sum of the employees selected, multiplied by the number of weeks of rate changes that need to be applied, exceeds the fixed threshold of greater than 400 (that is, > 400). If the threshold is exceeded, the scheduled Pay Summary Recalc background job takes care of the recalculation.
- Defer Decision: No recalculation will be performed and the employee will be shown again the next time that you open the dialog box.
- Reject: Discards changes for the employee and the employee won’t be shown the next time you open the dialog box, unless a subsequent change has occurred to the employee’s record.
The Pay Summary Recalc background job performs the recalculations when it runs, so you must ensure that the background job is scheduled. Running the Pay Summary Recalc background job on demand won’t process these pay rate changes. Only scheduling the job results in the pay rate changes processing.
For all employee pay changes approved through Sync Pay Changes, the site chosen for the Pay Summary Recalc background job (via the Site setting) doesn’t matter. Pay changes for any approved employees who belong to different sites than the one specified in the background job are still processed, regardless of the sites.
