About Onboarding Policies

An onboarding policy defines the onboarding experience for a new employee. You can use an onboarding policy to customize what appears in the My Onboarding feature when employees first log in to Dayforce.

You can configure multiple onboarding policies if your organization has different employee groups who need to do different tasks or see different information for their onboarding experience. For example, you set up unique policies for each language. You might also have different lines of business or geographical locations, such as countries or states, that require different onboarding policies.

You will want to define a unique onboarding policy for a group of employees when the following conditions exist:

  • The onboarding experience needs to be presented in a different language.
  • The onboarding features available in My Onboarding need to be different.
  • The onboarding experience needs a different welcome message (for example, managers of teams might need a different welcome message than new employees without direct reports).
  • The onboarding experience needs a different set of resources (for example, employees located in the United States might require different resources than those located in Canada).
  • The onboarding experience needs to show a different set of key people in the organization.

Keep in mind that the more policies you create, the more maintenance is required. It is recommended that you carefully plan your onboarding policies.
