Client properties are configured across a number of sections in the Properties tab of System Admin > Client Properties. The following are client properties in each section that are used by onboarding.

Allow hiring with no SSN/SIN |
Select this checkbox if you onboard employees before recording their national ID number (for example, SIN and SSN). When this checkbox is selected, the SSN/SIN field (or the National ID Number field in some locations) isn’t required when completing the New Hire or Candidate Hire forms. |

Account code for HireRight screening |
This client property integrates the features of Recruiting and Onboarding with the HireRight third-party candidate screening service and I-9 service. When your organization creates an account with the screening service, HireRight provides an integration code, which you enter in this field to complete integration. |
Disable onboarding date creation when processing hiring forms |
Clear this checkbox to enable onboarding functionality in forms. When selected, Dayforce doesn’t display the Onboarding Date and Onboarding Role fields in forms. These fields are required in order to use Onboarding. |
Use onboarding date instead of hire date for employee properties on forms |
Select this checkbox to use employee onboarding dates instead of hire dates as the effective start date of the employee properties included in hiring forms. Note: This checkbox isn’t enabled if the Disable Onboarding Date creation when processing hiring forms client property is selected. |
Include pre-start status records in HR Export |
Select this checkbox to include onboarding records when you export HR data. To exclude this data, clear the checkbox. |

Property |
Description |
---|---|
Enable first time access email |
Select this checkbox to enable first time access email messages. |
First time access email sender name |
Enter the message author's name. This is the name that will appear in the From line of the email. |
First time access email reply to address |
Enter the reply-to email address. This is the address that will be populated if new employees reply to the email. |
First time access email expiry in days |
Select this checkbox to specify how long before the link in the email expires. By default, this is set to 1 for security reasons, but you can enter a value between 1 and 5 days. Important: Although the email link's expiration can be extended for up to 5 days, doing so could present a security risk; there is more time for someone other than the intended employee to use the link and access your system. As an alternative, you could increase the number of email delivery attempts (using the First Time Access Email Maximum Delivery Attempts field) as a potentially more secure way of giving people more time to log in to Dayforce, because each delivery provides a new access link. |
First time access email maximum delivery attempts | Select this checkbox to specify how many times to attempt delivery of the email. By default, this is set to 5, but you can enter a value between 0 and 9. |
Maximum number of first-time access verification attempts |
Select the maximum number of first time verification attempts a new employee can make. |
