Add the Meet Your Team Section to an Onboarding Policy

Before You Begin: Ensure that team members have completed their employee biography, so that the new employee will see information about the members of their team. For more information, see "View Your Personal Information" in the Employee Guide.

Include the Meet Your Team section in an onboarding policy to welcome onboarding employees to the team, introduce them to the team members they will be working with, and give them access to a view of the organizational structure for their immediate team. You can configure the type of information that is shared with team members.

Dayforce automatically determines the lists of team members shared with employees based on the org hierarchy related to their primary work assignment. To change the list of team members who are shown to an individual employee, use the Meet Your Team tab in that employee's slide-out panel in Onboarding > Onboarding Employees. See Customize Meet Your Team for a New Employee.

To add the Meet Your Team section to an onboarding policy:

  1. Go to Onboarding Setup > Onboarding Policy.
  2. In the sidebar, select the policy that you want to modify.
  3. Click the Getting Started tab.
  4. Under Meet Your Team, click Add. Dayforce automatically scrolls down to where you can configure the section and opens an editing view of the section.
  5. To hide this section for internal employees, clear the Enable for Internal Hire checkbox.
  6. Configure the following:

    Create and format a message for your onboarding employees. To find out what a formatting control does, hover the cursor over it.

    You can also add tokens (such as the employee name) to personalize the message. In the Select Tokens drop-down list, select a token and click Insert.

    Enable the View Team Hierarchy buttonSelect this checkbox to include the View Team Hierarchy button, which shows a hierarchy view of the new employee's immediate team.
    Team Section Labels

    If necessary, you can change the default label names to reflect your organization's culture. Type the updated text in the field to the right of the section label.

    Only relevant sections are shown to onboarding employees, depending on their team and job assignment.

    Note: To add an additional section that lists additional colleagues relevant to an individual employee, open the employee's slide-out panel in Onboarding > Onboarding Employees and click Add Section in the Meet Your Team tab.

    Team Member Cards

    Click the switches to hide or include items on team member cards that appear in the Meet Your Team section for this onboarding policy.

  7. (Optional) In the Video section, complete the following steps to add a video:
    1. Click Add Video.
    2. Enter or paste a video link from YouTube or Vimeo in the Video field. The application automatically populates the Title field, if possible. If it doesn't add a title, you must add one yourself.
    3. Important: You can only upload public videos. You cannot upload private or unlisted videos.
    4. (Optional) Add a description to the video in the Description field.
  8. Click Ok.
  9. Click Save.
