Add DocuSign E-Signature Templates

Before You Begin: To use this feature, you must set up OAuth 2.0 authentication and its effective end date, if used, can't be expired. See Configure E-Signature Authentication. In addition, you must set up the templates in DocuSign. See Configure E-Signature Templates.

If your organization uses DocuSign templates, you can add them to onboarding policies. Onboarding employees can then complete them from Getting Started, one at a time and in any order.

Template status is tracked in DocuSign and reflected in Dayforce. The status for each template is shown to onboarding employees in Getting Started, and to managers and administrators in the employees' slide-out panel in Onboarding > Onboarding Employees.

Note: Users can go to Onboarding > Onboarding Employees to add more templates for employees to sign in Getting Started, or to reset templates to be e-signed again. See Manage DocuSign E-signature Templates.

To add DocuSign e-signature templates to an onboarding policy:

  1. Go to Onboarding Setup > Onboarding Policy.
  2. In the sidebar, select the policy that you want to modify.
  3. Click the Getting Started tab.
  4. Under Onboarding Forms, click Add.
  5. The application automatically scrolls down to where you can configure the Onboarding Forms section, which provides options to guide users with submitting various forms. See Add Onboarding Forms to an Onboarding Policy.
  6. Click Add E-Signature Templates to create a new section for DocuSign templates.
  7. Add a title to label the new section.
  8. Click Add E-Signature Template.
    1. Select a template in the Template drop-down list.
    2. Recipients are displayed based on the template's configuration in DocuSign. You can update the recipients as needed for this particular onboarding policy.
    3. Note: Recipients you select must have a valid business email. Your changes don’t update the recipients for the DocuSign template itself and won’t apply when the template is used again in Dayforce.
    4. To hide this template for internal employees, clear its Enable for Internal Hire checkbox.
    5. In the Due Date Type drop-down list, select First Day if it isn’t already selected. (This is the only value that is applicable for Onboarding.)
    6. In the Due Date Offset field, enter a number that corresponds to when the task is due. For example, if the task is due three days after the employee's first day, enter 3.
    7. Add as many additional templates as needed.
  9. Add more e-signature template sections as needed.
  10. Click OK. If you need to update this information later, go to this Onboarding Forms section and click its edit icon .
  11. Click Save.
