Important: Tap the switch at the bottom left of the screen to switch to the legacy version of Message Center or return to the new Message Center. You must log out and log back in to load your changes.
Messages are notes that you send in Message Center to employees or groups of employees. Recipients of messages can reply to the sender of the message. Broadcasts are notifications that you send in Message Center to specific employees or groups of employees. Recipients cannot reply to broadcasts. Typically, broadcasts are used by managers or supervisors to send informational messages to their employees that don't require a personal response.
Depending on your role, you can send messages and broadcasts to your colleagues. Dayforce shows the message types that you can send in the Compose drop-down list:
In the screenshot above, the employee can send messages, broadcasts, and emergency broadcasts. If they were able to send only messages, Dayforce would show only the New Message option. When you select the type of message to compose, Dayforce shows a blank message, broadcast, or emergency broadcast. Here is an example of a new broadcast:
