Send Emergency Broadcast Messages

To send emergency broadcast messages:

  1. In the Compose drop-down list, select Emergency Broadcast.
  2. Click To to search for your recipients.
  3. (Australia, United States, and Canada only) If you’re sending a text message, select the Send SMS checkbox. An SMS field opens for you to enter your message.
  4. If you’re sending email, click the Verified Emails drop-down list and select All Email if you want to send the broadcast message to all email addresses that the selected employees have on file. Otherwise, leave the default Verified Emails selected. If you aren't sending email, clear the Send Email checkbox.
  5. If you aren't sending a Message Center message, clear the Message Center checkbox.
  6. Note: As you select delivery options, Dayforce shows the number of recipients that can’t receive a message using a delivery method and why.
  7. Enter your message. Dayforce provides text formatting controls, so that you can format your message.
  8. Select the checkbox below the message. This step is required to confirm that you understand that Dayforce might send the emergency broadcast message to nonbusiness contacts for the selected employees, based on the delivery methods.
  9. Click Send.
  10. If any of the delivery methods have no recipients, Dayforce shows a validation message prompting you to clear the checkboxes for the applicable delivery methods. Dayforce doesn't send the message until you clear the checkboxes. If there are no validation errors, Dayforce sends the emergency broadcast message. If one of the delivery methods you use causes a partial failure, you can either resend the broadcast for the failed delivery method only, or you can ignore the error and go to the Sent folder to see the successfully sent message.
