To have access to Message Center, users must be assigned the appropriate role features in System Admin > Roles.
To assign role features:
- Go to System Admin > Roles and select the appropriate role.
- In the Features tab, assign the Application Container > Messaging role features.
- Assign security access by selecting the appropriate sub-features of Application Container > Messaging:
- Can Create Emergency Broadcast: Assigned employees can create an emergency broadcast message.
- Can Create New Broadcast Notification: Assigned employees can create a notification message, to which the recipients cannot reply. Clear the checkbox and employees can’t create broadcast messages.
- Can Create New Messages: Assigned employees can create new notes, forward received notes, and reply to received notes. Clear the checkbox and employees can reply or reply all to a note, but can't add new recipients.
- Respect Employee Security: Limit the address book according to the employees’ access authority. Clear the checkbox and employees can access the address book for the entire organization when choosing message recipients.
- Click Save.
Note: Assigning the Messaging feature configures Dayforce to deliver alerts to users through Message Center. Any subscribed alerts employees received before enabling Messaging are now sent to their inbox in Message Center. You can also configure Messaging to send notifications to employees' external email accounts when a message is waiting for them in Dayforce.
