Link Skills to Courses or Learning Plans

You can configure Dayforce to automatically assign employees a skill if they complete a course or learning plan.

Note: Dayforce assigns employees the skill if they complete any of the specified courses or learning plans. In other words, they only have to complete one, not all, of the specified requirements in order to earn the skill.

To configure skills to be assigned when users complete a course or learning plan:

  1. Go to Learning Setup > Skills.
  2. In the Skills tab, click the skill you want to edit.
  3. In the Courses and Learning Plans section, do any of the following:
    • To specify that employees can earn the skill by completing a course, select the necessary courses in the Earned by Courses drop-down list.
    • To specify that employees can earn the skill by completing a learning plan, select the necessary learning plans in the Earned by Learning Plans drop-down list.
    • To specify that administrators shouldn’t be able to manually assign the skill to employees who haven't completed one of the specified courses or learning plans, select the Course or Learning Plan Required checkbox.
  4. Click Save.
