Learning Overview

The Learning features in Dayforce provide access to e-learning tools directly in Dayforce. There are features for learning management (such as creating courses and tracking their completion), learning delivery (such as scheduling and webinar delivery), and learning consumption (such as completing courses and coaching other users).

Before You Begin: It’s recommended that you use Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge to access the Learning features. Internet Explorer isn’t recommended due to browser limitations.

There are two types of learning that you can track in Dayforce: internal learning and external learning.

They are defined as follows:

  • External learning: This is learning that happens outside Dayforce, such as at a community college or third-party seminar. External learning functionality is configured in Learning Setup.
  • Internal learning: This is learning that is delivered inside Dayforce, such as webinars or computer-based training. To use the internal learning features, you must purchase the module. For more information, contact your account executive or customer success manager.

This guide content is divided into the following main sections, based on user role:

  • Administration: This section is useful for users who are creating and updating the content in the module, such as courses, learning plans, and enrollments. See Learning Administration.
  • Management: This section is useful for users who help learners complete their training activities on time and suggest new learning paths for their employees. See Learning Management.
  • Learning: This section is useful for learners who will be enrolling in and taking courses in the module. See Learning.
