Create Observation Checklists

You can create one or more checklists in Learning Setup > Observation Checklist to help make sure that learners can complete tasks from their learning activities.

To create a checklist:

  1. Go to Learning SetupObservation Checklist.
  2. Click the new checklist icon (), and then do the following:
    1. Enter a name and, optionally, a reference code and description for the checklist.
    2. In the Options section, select one or both checkboxes. If you select the Add acceptance review at the end of the checklist checkbox, the observer is asked whether they accept the responses before they can close the checklist. The observer can close the checklist regardless of how they respond to this acceptance review.
    3. Click Create and Edit to create the checklist and open the configuration page.
  3. In the Items tab, do the following to add one or more groups of items to the checklist:
    1. Click the new group of items icon ().
    2. Enter a name for the group and, optionally, a description.
    3. (Optional) Select the checkbox in the Options section to exclude the group name from the checklist shown to observers.
    4. Click Create, and then click New Item for the group.
    5. In the Item field, enter the activity that the learner should complete, and then select the response type for that item.
    6. If you selected the single choice, multiple choice, or drop-down option, enter the options that the observer can choose from. Click New Option for more option fields.
    7. Repeat steps a through f to add more items for the group, and then click Save Changes.
  4. In the Preview tab, review the checklist as it will be shown to the observers.
