Skill types are used to group similar skills. For example, you could configure a Languages skill type and group all of the language skills (such as English and French) together. If you use skills in scheduling, you can use skill types to define which skills affect schedules.
To configure a skill type:
- Go to Learning Setup > Skills and click the Skill Types tab.
- Click Add.
- Enter a name for the skill type.
- (Optional) Enter a description and a cross-reference reference code.
- If the skill is used in scheduling (that is, employees can only work certain shifts if they possess skills of this type), select the Is WFM checkbox.
- Note: You must select this checkbox if you want to use this skill as part of the skill display functionality in Schedules. See "Skill Display" in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.
- Click Save.
