Before You Begin: To begin the integration, you first need to configure the proper settings and obtain credentials from your LinkedIn Learning account, outside of Dayforce.
- Go to Learning Setup > Content Marketplace.
- Click LinkedIn Learning.
- Click Activate LinkedIn Learning.
- In the right panel, enter the corresponding credentials. You should contact LinkedIn Learning directly in order to receive the necessary credentials for this integration.
- In the View Mode section, set whether the courses you import from LinkedIn Learning will be played in a new window, in the LinkedIn Learning portal, or in the in-line course player.
- You can change the view mode at any time from this panel by pressing the Configure Settings button, but your changes will not be retroactive. The view mode you select is applied to the courses you import from LinkedIn Learning while the option is selected. This means that if you change the view mode several times, you will have mixed view modes for your courses.
- You can edit your credentials at any time by clicking the Configure Settings button and entering a different Client ID or Client Secret.
Note: You cannot import LinkedIn Learning Categories into Dayforce.
Import Content from LinkedIn Learning
In your platform, you can import LinkedIn Learning content either as an individual course in Course Management, or as training material in the Central Repository.
Note: When importing the content as a course, it will also be saved as training material in the Central Repository.
To import content from LinkedIn Learning:
- Click the Import button on the course.
- Select the import type:
- Import as training material in the Central Repository: The course will be imported to the Central Repository, where you can push the contents as training material to courses.
- Import as training material in the Central Repository and create course: The course will be imported to the Central Repository, and you will also create a course with the same name as the training material.
- Important: Ensure that the language of the content you are importing is an active culture setting in Dayforce, or the corresponding course might not be created.
- Click Next.
- Select the category destination. If you are importing the course as training material, click Confirm.
- If you are also creating courses, click Next and continue to the following optional steps.
- (Optional) To make the course available in catalogs, select them from the list. Click Next.

- Click Confirm.
Mass Import Content from LinkedIn Learning
To import multiple courses from LinkedIn Learning:
- Click the download icon in the top right corner.
- Select which courses you want to import, then select whether to import them as Central Repository content or as courses.
- (Optional) Select the category destination. This import option doesn’t allow you to enroll users into courses at this stage, because courses might have different types of audience.
- Click Import.
Best Practices for Managing LinkedIn Learning for the Content Marketplace
When setting the LinkedIn Learning catalog visibility, make sure that the number of users accessing the catalog doesn’t exceed the number of LinkedIn Learning licenses you have purchased.
LinkedIn Learning has an API limitation of 500 courses returned that is meant to preserve the performance of the partner's connector. Dayforce isn’t meant to be used as the repository of the content provider's entire library, as attempting to do so can have a negative impact on import performance. You should always refine your search to the specific training of your learners when you import courses.
