Configure Additional Fields for External Courses

To add an additional field:

  1. Go to Learning Setup > Additional Fields.
  2. Click Add.
  3. In the General section:
    1. Enter the field name.
    2. Select where the field will be used from the Field Use drop-down.
    3. (Optional) If the field is visible to learners, select the Visible to Users checkbox.
    4. Type a cross-reference code in the Reference Code field.
    5. (Optional) Type a description that is displayed to managers when they view the additional field.
  4. In the Field Setting section, select the type of field from the drop-down. The type of field you select determines the other settings that are displayed.

    Text

    Specify the number of characters allowed in the field. You can only enter alphabetic characters in text fields.

    Numeric Enter the minimum and maximum values allowed in the field. You can only enter numbers in numeric fields.
    Alphanumeric Specify the number of characters allowed in the field. You can enter both numbers and alphabetic characters in alphanumeric fields.
    Date No additional configuration is required.
    Droplist Specify the selection type from the drop-down. Then click Add and type a value in the Name column.
  6. Click Save.

To copy or delete an existing field, select the field and click the Copy or Delete button.
