Assigning Data Items to a User Account

Assign data items or pay groups based on the customer’s recommendations for each user.

Only IAM Dayforce Implementation Admins can add PSIDs for a customer to use. Users with the IAM Customer Admin role can enable or disable the PSID for use in the organization and allow access to a PSID for a user’s account.

To assign data items or data profiles to a user account:

  1. On the Users page, select the user account you want to work with, in the panel on the left side of the page.
  2. In the User Roles pane, verify whether the user has the appropriate roles assigned. If you need to assign a role, refer to Assigning User Roles.
  3. In the Role Attributes pane, click the Assigned Data Profiles/Items button in the Assigned Data Profiles/Items column.

If the value is NA, data profiles/items cannot be assigned to the attribute.

The Data Profiles/Items page shows the data items and profiles that can be assigned to the role attribute. On the left side of the page, the number of data items assigned to the role attribute is shown. Clicking the User Assignment option shows the data items assigned to the user for the selected role attribute.

In the grid section on the right, you can see what data items are available in the group you selected on the left (User Assignment, All, a custom data profile, or Individual Data Items).

The Type column shows the type of data item:

  • Canada Blue Payroll ID
  • Canada Green Payroll ID
  • FEIN
  • Powerpay
  • US Signature Payroll ID

The Data Profile column displays which data profile the data item belongs to.

The PSID column shows the PSID value, if applicable.

The FEIN column shows the FEIN value, if applicable.

The PSID/FEIN Description field shows the description value for the PSID or FEIN.

The District column shows the district value, if applicable.

Data profiles are listed below along with the All and Individual Data Items options. You can click data profiles to select all data items within that data profile. The All option is used to select or deselect all available data items. The Individual Data Items option is used to select individual data items.
