You can’t select archived topics and subtopics in the topic drop-downs in either HR Cases > Create a case or in HR Case Management > Case details. Maintain the list of topics and subtopics by archiving them when they are no longer needed. Archived topics and subtopics can still be updated in the HR team tab in HR Admin so that visibility to those topics can continue to be managed for any historical purposes, even if the topics are no longer in active use.
When you archive a topic, all of its subtopics are automatically archived. You can archive individual subtopics without archiving their parent topics. Archived topics and subtopics can still be assigned to HR team members, who can see which topics are archived. However, these topics aren’t editable, and you can’t update the localization.
To archive current topics or subtopics:
- Go to HR Case Admin and click the Topics tab.
- In the Current tab, click the options menu (⋮) for the topic or subtopic that you want to archive.
- Click Archive.
Dayforce moves archived topics and subtopics from the Current tab to the Archived tab.
