For topics that are inactive, you activate them by assigning them to at least one HR team member. These steps are similar to when you assign topics.
To activate topics:
- Go to HR Case Admin and click the Topics tab.
- Click the Inactive tab. Make note of the topic that you want to activate from the list of topics shown.
- Click Assign Access.
- Select the HR team members that you want to assign the topic to.
- Click Assign topic access. Dayforce shows topics that are available to be assigned in a list with checkboxes. Checkboxes can have different information:
- Checkmark: Topics that are assigned to the selected HR team members.
- Clear: Topics that aren’t assigned to the chosen HR team members.
- Dash: Topics that are assigned to at least one but not all selected HR team members.
- Add a checkmark beside the topics that you want to assign and activate. They’re now shown in the Topic Access column.
- Click Save. The topics are now active.
Note: If your save was unsuccessful, the application shows a notification message, and the topics that you selected remain in the Topic Access column. You can either try to save again, or reset the page by clicking Cancel after which you can select your topics again.
