In the Work > Biometric Security screen in People, you can view and delete existing biometric templates:
Note: If the employee isn’t enrolled for biometric verification on the clock, the templates list doesn’t appear and Dayforce shows a message stating that the employee isn’t enrolled for biometric verification.
Biometric security can be configured for employees on clocks with the appropriate hardware. Biometric verification ensures that the employee who’s clocking in or out matches the badge number that they enter. The clocks use hardware fingerprint scanners to scan an employee’s finger and match it against a previously saved scan. If the two scans match, the employee can clock in or out as normal. If the scans don’t match, the biometric verification fails and the employee is prevented from clocking in or out.
Dayforce lists the finger number of each biometric template stored and associated with an employee in the Template Index field. If the employee has scanned multiple fingers, Dayforce distinguishes between them by incrementing the Template Index number, so that the first finger scanned has an index of zero, and the second has an index of one.
In the Biometric Verification section, an employee can also be marked or unmarked as exempt from biometric verification. Employees can also be assigned a higher or lower biometric threshold than the default set for the Dayforce Touch Clock. For example, you could use this functionality to configure a lower threshold for employees whose finger scans are consistently rejected.
