The Work > Badge screen in People is divided into three sections: Badge, Clock Authority, and Employee Badge PIN.
Access and configuration:
- Role feature access: Application Container > People > Employee Profile > Work > Badge
- Role authorization access: Employee Badge Information (All Permissions)
Badge
In the Badge section, you can view, add, and remove badges, and define the effective dates for badge numbers. To switch between current and historical records, click Active/All on the right side of the screen.
The Raw Badge column, if available, shows the employee’s raw badge number that’s derived from their physical badge after they clock in or out on a Dayforce clock. The raw badge number in this column is read-only. To show the Raw Badge column, in System Admin > Roles in the Features tab, enable the Display Raw Badge role feature. This role feature is located under the Application Container > People > Employee Profile > Work > Badge role features. See Application Container in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.
Clock Authority
In the Clock Authority section, you can configure whether an employee can override clock entries at the clock using the Can override time entries at the clock checkbox. Selecting the checkbox enables clock authority at the employee level.
Employee Badge PIN
In the Employee Badge PIN section, you can reset the employee’s badge PIN. The text field permits only numeric values, not alphabetic values.
The Enter New PIN text field shows the employee’s badge PIN if they have an existing one, but doesn’t reveal numeric values (for example, if the employee already has one, the field shows the password as *****). If the text field is blank, a PIN hasn’t previously been defined, allowing you to create one. After you enter a new PIN, click Reset PIN to save your entry.
