When an employee tries to reset their password in the Login screen, Dayforce only sends the reset URL to their email address if the address is verified.
Dayforce sends employees a URL to verify their email address when:
- A user creates a new email address with the Alerts checkbox selected.
- A user edits an existing email address with the Alerts checkbox selected.
This URL expires in one to five days. The expiration time is configured using the Email Verification Time Limit client property in the Messages section of the Properties tab in System Admin > Client Properties.
Because the employee can’t use an email address to reset their password or log in by email until it’s verified, you can manually send a new verification request without having to edit the address or add a new one.
To send a verification request manually:
- Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Personal > Contact Information.
- In the Email Addresses section, click Send Verification under the email address that you want to send the request for:
-
- When the recipient clicks the verification link, the email address is shown as verified:
-
- If the recipient clicks This is not my email address, the email address is shown as rejected. In this case, you can update the email address, or click Send Verification to resend the notification if this link was clicked in error:
