In Work > Balances, you can recalculate balances for a specific employee. For example, this is useful in cases where an employee has been assigned a new entitlement policy and their balances need to be updated to reflect the change.
To recalculate an employee's balances:
- Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Work > Balances.
- In the Actual Balances section, click Recalculate Balances. The Recalculate Balances dialog box opens.
- In the Start Date field, enter the date that you want Dayforce to start recalculating the employee’s balances. For example, if you’re recalculating balances because of a change to the employee’s entitlement policy, you would select the date that the new policy took effect.
- (Optional) In the End Date field, enter an end date. This marks the end of the period for which Dayforce recalculates balances.
- Note: If you leave the End Date field blank and recalculate, Dayforce uses the current date as the end date.
- (Optional) If you want Dayforce to delete and recreate any balance periods for that employee that fall completely between the values in the Start Date and End Date fields, select the Recalculate Balance Periods checkbox.
- Click Recalculate.
