Periodic Salary

You can use the Periodic Salary field to specify the salary amount an employee receives regularly, for example, monthly.

The Periodic Salary field is shown in the Employment Status tab of the Employment > Employment Settings screen in People for salaried employees and in the following self-service forms:

  • New Hire
  • New Hire with Contract
  • Rehire
  • Rehire with Contract
  • New Hire (Position Management)
  • New with Contract (Position Management)
  • Rehire (Position Management)

Role feature access: Application Container > People > Employee Profile > Employment > Employment Settings > Employment Status > Periodic Salary

When it’s enabled for your role, and you select a salaried employee, the Periodic Salary field is shown in addition to the Base Rate and Annual Salary fields. If the employee belongs to a German or Mauritian pay group, the standard period of monthly payments applies and Dayforce calculates the corresponding amounts depending on your input.

If you select a pay type with a salaried pay type group, you can enter a value in either the Periodic Salary or Annual Salary field. Dayforce calculates the equivalent values for the Annual Salary (monthly salary × 12) and Base Rate fields. If you select an hourly pay type, Dayforce calculates the monthly and annual salary values based on what you enter in the Base Rate field.

Important: The automatic calculation of values for the Periodic Salary field and the Annual Salary field doesn't apply to German or Mauritian pay groups using ConnectedPay. For pay groups using ConnectedPay, both fields are editable.
