Before You Begin: This topic currently applies to only German pay groups.
As Dayforce payroll functionality expands to more countries, some employee national ID numbers that used to be stored as generic numbers in the National ID Number field of the employee's profile in the Personal > Confidential Information screen of People now need to be stored as confidential ID types in the Identification section of that screen.
Customers who have employees in these countries, and subsequently have their national ID numbers stored in the National ID Number field, can use the Employee National ID Migration background job to copy these numbers from the National ID Number field to the appropriate confidential ID type field in the Identification section of the Personal > Confidential Information screen.
Note: After the Employee National ID Migration background job copies numbers, numbers aren't removed from the National ID Number field.
To migrate employee national ID numbers to confidential ID type:
- Go to System Admin > Background Jobs and click the Available Jobs tab.
- Select the Employee National ID Migration job.
- Click Run to run the job immediately. The Run Employee National ID Migration dialog box opens.
- Do one of the following:
- To preview the changes before implementing them, select the Test Mode checkbox.
- To implement the changes immediately (because you have already previewed the changes), clear the Test Mode checkbox.
- In the Pay Group Country drop-down list, select the country for which you are making changes. For example, Germany.
- In the Confidential Identification Type drop-down list, select the ID that you want to migrate the generic national ID number to. For example, Tax Identification Number.
- Click Run. The Background Job Queued dialog box opens.
- Click Close.
Depending on whether you ran the job in test mode or non-test mode, you will receive a message called Test Mode - Employee National ID Migration or Employee National ID Migration when the job finishes. This message contains the CSV file that details what changes were made, or will be made, in Dayforce.
For more information about the contents of the CSV file, see Employee National ID Migration CSV File.
