When you click Maternity in the Reason drop-down list, Dayforce shows the sections and settings described in the following table.

| Leave Details | |
| Status | The employment status for the leave. Usually the status is Inactive. |
| Reason | The reason for the leave. The leave reason determines the fields and settings shown for the leave. In this case, the leave reason is Maternity. |
| Start Date |
The date that the leave begins. Defaults to the current date. |
| End Date |
The date that the leave ends. |
| Extended Leave | An extended leave period has been requested. Extended leaves can only be requested in exceptional circumstances such as multiple or premature births. |
| Due Date |
The date that the employee's child is expected to be born. |
| HR Information | |
| Date Evidence Received |
The date that the evidence for the leave request is received. |
| Evidence Valid |
A Yes or No value to indicate whether the evidence provided by the employee is valid. |
| Extension Request Received Date |
The date that the extension request is received. |
| Actual Birth Date |
The birth date of the child. |
| Actual Birth Notification Date | Select the date the notification of the actual birth is submitted. |
| Live Birth | Select Yes or No in the drop-down list. |
Qualified Earnings
After you’ve completed the fields in the Leave Details and HR Information sections, you can click Add in the Qualified Earnings section to open the Qualified Earnings Period panel and complete the fields as described in the following table.
Before You Begin: The Qualified Earnings section is relevant only for customers using the native payroll solution in Germany.

The effective dates of the maternity qualified earnings. These dates must be within the effective dates of the leave record. A warning is shown if the effective from date isn’t the first day of the month and if the effective to date isn’t the last day of the month. |

Dayforce calculates the average gross monthly pay of the employee, based on the start date of the leave period, and populates this field. This field is available only when there is a value in the Override Net Average Daily Pay field. |
| Override Gross Monthly Average Pay |
The override value for the employee's gross monthly average pay. |
| Net Monthly Average Pay | Dayforce calculates the average net monthly pay of the employee, based on the start date of the leave period, and populates the field. |
| Override Net Monthly Average Pay | The override value for the employee's net monthly average pay. |
| Net Average Daily Pay |
Dayforce calculates the average daily pay of the employee, based on the start date of the leave period, and populates this field. |
| Override Net Average Daily Pay | The override value for the employee's net average daily pay. |
| Override Net Average Daily Pay Reason | The reason for the override of the employee’s net average daily pay. This field is available only when there is a value in the Override Net Average Daily Pay field. |
