To increment or decrement an employee’s balances, you can manually record transactions. For example, you could manually assign an employee additional vacation days mid-year.
If you manually increment or decrement a grant-based balance, Dayforce updates the values in the Available Grant and Current Value columns. The value in the Grant column is static, and represents the balance value that the entitlement engine gave to the employee when the balance period was created.
To manually increment or decrement balances:
- Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Work > Balances.
- In the Actual Balances section, expand the balance that you want to modify. Dayforce shows the transactions for that balance:
-
- In the Transactions section, click Add. By default, Dayforce populates the Transaction Date field with today’s date. If necessary, enter a different date for the transaction.
- Do one of the following:
- To decrement the balance, enter the number that you want to decrement it by in the Decrement field. For example, to decrease an employee's vacation balance by one day, enter 1.
- To decrement the balance’s available grant, enter the number that you want to decrement it by in the Decrement Available Grant field.
- To increment the balance, enter the number that you want to increment it by in the Increment field. For example, to grant an employee an additional three vacation days, enter 3.
- To increment the balance’s available grant, enter the number that you want to increment it by in the Increment Available Grant field.
- (Optional) In the Comment field, enter a comment. This field has a 128-character limit.
- Click Save.
