Hire Employees

When a new employee is hired, you can onboard them in People using the New Hire form. After the form is submitted, approved, and processed, Dayforce creates a new employee record for the new hire, making them available in Dayforce to be scheduled and have their time tracked, among other actions.

Onboarding employees involves recording the employee's information on the form, including personal details, contact information and address, payroll settings and policies, job assignment, salary, emergency contacts, and the location at which they work.

Before You Begin: If the Limit Work Assignments by Budget client property is enabled for your organization in System Admin > Client Properties, Dayforce checks whether the maximum number of employees who can have the selected job assignment, as configured in Org Setup > Jobs and Job Assignments, has been reached when you submit the form. If the maximum has been reached, Dayforce displays a validation error when you click Submit.

To onboard employees with the New Hire form:

  1. Go to People.
  2. In the People List screen, click Action > New Hire and select the New Hire form.
  3. Fill out the form. See List of New Hire Form Settings.
  4. Click Submit.
