Generate EEO-1 Report Files

In HR Admin > Compliance Reporting > EEO, you can generate the EEO-1 Component 1 report from the Establishments tab for a selected template.

Before You Begin: The options available for generating report files depend on your role feature access. See Assign Role Features for EEO-1 Filing Reports.

The options for generating reports are displayed when you click Export in the toolstrip. The Export button is only enabled when you have the Establishments tab open.

Before you generate a report, you can manually edit the following columns of the Establishments tab:

  • Status Code
  • Federal Contractor

Although you can edit these columns before generating a report, you can't save these updates for future reporting. The default selections are restored when you refresh the screen. See Establishments Tab Column List.

To generate a report, click Export and select an EEO-1 filing option.

EEO-1 filing options
Option Description

EEO-1 Filing

Generates a version of the Component 1 report that’s compatible with the EEOC online filing system.

EEO-1 Filing with Headers

Generates the same Component 1 report as the EEO-1 Filing option, with the addition of headers to describe each column so that you can more easily review the data and make corrections. The following is an excerpt of the report with headers:

Component 1 report with headers.

The file name of the CSV file that’s generated with this option is appended with “_H” to indicate that it contains headers. For example: “File6201900000_H”.

Important: To upload the file generated by the EEO-1 Filing with Headers option to the EEOC website, you must remove the first row of column headers in the file, and also remove the “_H” from the end of the file name or it won’t be compatible with EEOC online filing requirements.

The Export menu can also include the Employees with Exceptions option for generating the employee exceptions file. See Export Employee Exceptions File.

When you select EEO-1 Filing or EEO-1 Filing with Headers, Dayforce checks that the address information and compliance properties defined for each establishment are present. If information is missing, Dayforce displays a warning dialog box. In this case, click Yes to continue generating the file with the missing data, or No to cancel.

The Problems panel shows a list of warnings for missing information:

Warning for Establishments Store 113. Name value is missing.

You can’t update this information in the Establishments tab. You can only update it in Org Setup.

Important: You must keep the file in the CSV format for it to be accepted by the EEOC online filing system. For example, don’t save it as an Excel Workbook file (XLSX).

In the file, the column for the FEIN number is based on the Federal/Business ID Number field of the legal entity to which each site belongs in Org Setup > Org Payroll Setup > Legal Entity.
