Type of Reporting Organization |

| Legal Entity |
One or more of the organization's US legal entities. By default, all legal entities are selected, but you can clear the ones you want to exclude. In Dayforce, hiring locations roll up to legal entities. As such, the legal entities that you select determine which hiring locations are reported on in the VETS-4212 Filing Report for the template. For example, say your organization has two companies for which it needs to generate separate filing reports, and these companies are aligned to two separate legal entities in Dayforce. To produce a file for each company, you would create two templates in HR Admin > Compliance Reporting > VETS-4212 Filing. In the first template, you would select the first legal entity and in the second template, the second legal entity. As a result, each template only reports on locations that roll up to the legal entity selected. |
| Headquarter Location |
The hiring location that is designated as the headquarters in the VETS-4212 filing report. This drop-down list shows hiring locations that roll up to the legal entities selected in the Legal Entity drop-down list. Employees marked as virtual in their primary work assignment are included in the headquarter location. Virtual work is defined by the Virtual checkbox in an employee’s primary work assignment in the Work > Work Assignments screen of People. |
