To exempt an employee from biometric verification and edit their biometric sensitivity level on Dayforce clocks:
- Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Work > Biometric Security. Dayforce shows how many templates the selected employee has and the employee’s biometric verification options:
-
- Select or clear the Exempt Employee From Biometric Validation checkbox. When selected, the employee isn’t prompted to scan their fingers when clocking in and out.
- To configure Dayforce to use a different biometric sensitivity level than the default configured for the clock, select an option in the Bio Sensitivity Level drop-down list:
-
- Default: The clock uses the biometric threshold specified in the clock’s config file.
- Off: The clock asks the employee to scan their finger but doesn’t actually perform validation. This is helpful in cases where a specific employee’s finger scans are consistently rejected, even after deleting and reading their biometric template. This differs from marking the employee as exempt in that they are still prompted to scan their finger.
- Low: The clock uses a low sensitivity, equivalent to setting the biometric threshold to ‘1’ in the config file
- Medium: The clock uses a medium sensitivity, equivalent to setting the biometric threshold to ‘2’ in the config file.
- High: The clock uses a high sensitivity, equivalent to setting the biometric threshold to ‘3’ in the config file.
- Very High: The clock uses a very high sensitivity, equivalent to setting the biometric threshold to ‘4’ in the config file.
- Click Save.
