Edit or View Existing Base Rates

In the Work > Base Rate Progression screen in People, above the base rates list, Dayforce shows the following read-only information about the employee’s base rate data:

  • Cumulative Value as of Today: The employee’s cumulative adjustment value. This figure is the sum of all the adjustment values in the base rates list for the selected employee. This value derives cumulative adjustments from active records only. That is, if the base rates list contains a record with a business date that’s in the future, the adjustment for that record won’t contribute to this value.
  • Base Rate Recalc Last Run: A time stamp that represents the last time the Base Rate Recalc background job was run in Dayforce.
  • Base Rate Set: The base rate set that’s associated with the employee’s base rates.
  • Base Rate Level: The employee's base rate level and its value.

Dayforce can also detect if base rate adjustments have been made that might affect the employee’s base rate records but haven’t been recalculated yet. In this scenario, above the base rates list, Dayforce shows a message telling you to run a recalc so that all adjustments are included.

To recalculate changes and update the base rate records, click Recalculate Base Rates. Dayforce runs the Base Rate Recalc background job for the selected employee. When the background job finishes, Dayforce updates any appropriate base rate records and removes the informational message above the base rates list.

Important: As a best practice, when you update base rates, you should run the Base Rate Recalc background job and then the Pay Summary Recalc background job. This ensures that Dayforce detects base rate updates and recalculates them accurately, especially in scenarios involving pay adjustments.

To edit an employee's base rate:

  1. Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Work > Base Rate Progression.
  2. Click any field in the base rates list (for example, the business date).
  3. Make your changes.
  4. Click Save.

To delete a base rate record, select it in the list and then click Delete.
