In HR Admin > Compliance Reporting > EEO, you can generate EEO-1 reports in a comma-separated values (CSV) format that is compatible with the online filing system of the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Private employers and federal contractors meeting certain eligibility requirements have a mandatory legal obligation to submit and certify annual EEO-1 reports of workforce demographic data. Currently, these annual reports are limited to the collection of EEO-1 Component 1 data, which details workforce race/ethnicity and gender composition by job category. In prior years, additional data on pay and worked hours has been collected using EEO-1 Component 2 reporting; however, at this time, Component 2 data isn’t required or collected by the EEOC.
For additional information on EEO-1 reporting, including filing instructions, Frequently Asked Questions, and to complete reporting, see the EEOC website: https://eeocdata.org/eeo1.
Important: Employers are ultimately responsible for ensuring and certifying the accuracy of the data that is provided to the EEOC. As such, you are encouraged to exercise due diligence and to conduct a review of the data in the report that is submitted. If errors or discrepancies are discovered, appropriate revisions might be necessary.
The process for generating EEO-1 Component 1 reports is as follows:
- Assign role features for EEO-1 reporting functionality. See Assign Role Features for EEO-1 Filing Reports.
- Check that prerequisites are in place for data included in the reports. See EEO-1 Filing Prerequisites.
- Configure EEO-1 filing templates for your organization. See Configure EEO-1 Filing Templates.
- Review a summary of the report data, including validations for missing information. This includes the ability to export files containing a list of employees who are missing data. See Review Filing Summary and Validation Messages.
- (If applicable) Define the establishment used to report on combined sites. See Define One Establishment for Multiple Sites.
- Generate Component 1 report files. See Generate EEO-1 Report Files.
