Create HR Policies

To create an HR policy:

  1. Go to HR Admin > HR Policies and click Add.
  2. Enter a name and, optionally, a description.
  3. Enter a value in the Reference Code field. Reference codes are used to export data to other applications. These codes must be unique and must not contain special characters.
  4. Enter a start date and, optionally, an end date.
  5. Select the Publish To Form Builder checkbox for Dayforce to generate a form for the HR policy when you save. Dayforce adds the form to Workflow Administration > Form Builder, under the Custom heading in the left sidebar. See HR Policy Publishing.
  6. In the editor, enter any instructions or content you want to show in the form. See Text Editor Controls.
  7. In the Attachments section, attach one or more files to the HR policy as follows:
    1. Click Add and Dayforce shows the Upload Files dialog box.
    2. Do one of the following:
      • Drag and drop your files into the dialog box.
      • Click Browse for file(s) to open your browser's file explorer, select and then add one or more files, and then close your browser’s file explorer.
    3. In the Upload Files dialog box, click Upload and Dayforce adds the files to the list.
  8. Note: Files that you attach to an HR policy are automatically assigned the HR Policy document type and entity type.
  9. Click Save.
