Cover Your Tracks (CYT) is a process that runs automatically after employee updates. The process scans employees' time, schedule, and payroll data for any transactions associated with a job assignment or location combination that doesn’t exist in the employee's work assignment history to support the transaction. When an employee is missing a job assignment or location for a transaction, the CYT process adds the missing job assignment or location as a non-primary work assignment to the employee's work assignment history for the corresponding date range. It also adds the following value to the Reason field of the added work assignment: Existing schedules, time worked or payroll entries.
The following processes trigger CYT functionality:
- Running an HR Import.
- Making changes to an employee profile in the Work > Work Assignments screen in People.
- Making changes to multiple employees' work assignments via the Edit button in People.
- Any system or custom forms that update work assignments.
- Any Dayforce Web Services action that updates work assignments.
- Promotions in the Compensation module.
