Configure Employee Properties to Generate HR Events

In HR Admin > Employee Properties, you can select the Generate HR Event checkbox in a property’s details for Dayforce to generate the Employee Property Changed HR event when the employee property is updated for an employee. The Benefits module can use this HR event to trigger a workflow that recalculates an employee’s eligibility for a plan.

For example, employees are qualified to enroll in a reimbursement plan to subsidize parking expenses after they have submitted proof of an annual parking plan. In employee profiles, you add an employee property called Proof of Annual Parking Plan, which has a checkbox value. Then, when an employee submits proof of an annual parking plan, you select this checkbox to trigger a process that ends with the enrollment being delivered to the employee.

Notes:

  • To generate this HR event, you must run the Benefits HR Event Generator background job.
  • Eligibility for the associated plan option must be configured to reference the specified employee property. This can be done using the Employee Property Value setting in the Employee Qualifier that’s available in Benefits Setup > Eligibility.
