Add Cumulative Hours Fields

In the Cumulative Hours Admin feature in HR Admin, you can define aggregated hours fields to hold the FMLA-related aggregated hours data that will come from the Compute Worked Minutes in Period background job.

To add an aggregated hours field:

  1. Go to HR AdminCumulative Hours Admin and click Add.
  2. Enter a name in the Display Name field.
  3. Select the Display on Employee Profile checkbox to include these hours in the employee’s profile.
  4. Note: You can only select four fields at one time due to space constraints in the employee profile. If you select more than four fields, you can't save your changes.
  5. Specify the offsets Dayforce uses to aggregate these hours when you run the Compute Worked Minutes in Period background job:
    • Start Offset: Enter the number of days, weeks, or months from the current date to indicate when you want to start aggregating hours.
    • End Offset: Enter the number of days, weeks, or months from the current date to indicate when you want to stop aggregating hours.
    • Offset Type: Select the type of offset to use when aggregating hours: Days, Weeks, Months, or Years.
  6. Now, when you run the Compute Worked Minutes in Period background job, it uses the offset configurations you specify here for each field. For example, if the Offset Type is set to Days, the Start Offset is set to 5 and the End Offset is set to 2, Dayforce calculates the employee's hours from five days ago to two days ago, inclusively.
  7. In the Pay Codes drop-down list, select the pay codes for which you want to aggregate hours.
  8. Click Save.

See Compute Worked Minutes in Period in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

In the following example, the administrator created two aggregated fields. The Hours Worked in Last 4 Years field and the Hours Worked in Last 12 Months field:

When you run the Compute Worked Minutes in Period background job, Dayforce aggregates the hours worked for the employees or locations specified, and shows them in these fields in the employee card:
