Create and Apply Appearances

To create a hub appearance:

  1. Go to Hub Setup > Hub Designer and click the Appearance tab.
  2. Note: A Sample Appearance is available by default. See Sample Appearance Template.
  3. Click Add to start with a new appearance, or select an existing appearance to use as a starting point, and click Copy.
  4. Enter a name for the appearance.
  5. If you want this to be the default appearance for new pages, select the Default checkbox. Once selected the checkbox is read-only.
  6. Note: This doesn’t impact any existing pages. In addition, if you want to choose a different appearance as default, select the Default checkbox of the appearance you want as default. Dayforce then automatically clears the checkbox of the previous default appearance.
  7. Web Appearance
  8. If you want to have a header background image, click Select to browse for an image in the Select Media dialog box:
    1. Locate and select the image in the Media Library, and click Select.
    2. If the image isn’t in the Media Library, you can click Upload to add an image. Recommended image size is less than 1 MB with a maximum size of 2 MB.
    3. (Optional) Click Crop to use the cropping tool to crop the image before you click Select.
  9. Note: Any header background image covers the top section of the page.
  10. (Optional) Select the page background accent color. The preview updates in real-time.
  11. Note: If selected, the header background image hides the color.
  12. Select the accent color. The default color is blue. The preview updates in real-time.
  13. Mobile App Appearance
  14. If you want to have a mobile app logo, click Select to browse for an image in the Select Media dialog box:
    1. Locate and select the image in the Media Library, and click Select.
    2. If the image isn’t in the Media Library, you can click Upload to add an image. Images must be a maximum size of 2 MB.
    3. (Optional) Click Crop to use the cropping tool to crop the image before you click Select.
  15. Select the mobile accent color. The default color is blue. The preview updates in real-time.
  16. Click Save.
  17. When you update and save an appearance, Dayforce immediately updates the pages that are using the appearance including any draft pages.
  18. To apply this appearance to a page you’ve already created:
    1. Click the Hubs tab.
    2. Select the hub you want to change.
    3. Click Settings and select the new appearance in the drop-down list.
    4. Click Save.
    5. The page is updated immediately, whether it’s in draft or published status.
