Configure Featured Links

Before You Begin: Role feature access determines which features, forms, and guided processes are visible to end users. See Role Feature Requirements for Hub Widgets.

You can add up to three featured links for each Featured Links widget.

To configure Featured Links widgets:

  1. In Hub Designer, select a home page in the Hubs tab, in a section, click + Add Widget.

  4. The contents of the Title field appears above the icon or image for the links. You can leave it as Featured Links (the default) or change it as needed.
  5. The Show Graphics checkbox is selected by default to display graphics. If you clear the checkbox Dayforce doesn’t display the Graphic section, which is at the bottom of the Featured Links dialog box.

    Option Description

    Type and Visibility

Feature: To add a link to a Dayforce feature. This is the default selection.

If you select a Dayforce feature, Dayforce displays Web only in the Visibility field by default, and filters the Feature field with the features that are web only in the drop-down list. When you change the Visibility field to Mobile app only, Dayforce filters the drop-down list in the Feature field with the mobile features.

File: Link to add a file from the Hub Media Library. Click Select to open the Select Media dialog box and select or upload files.

You need to select All, Web only or Mobile app only in the drop-down list in the Visibility field.

Note: The visibility set at the file level for the widget is different from the visibility for the widget itself in that, in some cases, it can impact whether the hub widget displays a link, depending on the platform the visibility is configured for.

Form/Guided Process: To add a link to a form or guided process. Dayforce allows you search for a form and view the details before you link it.

When you select Form/Guided Process Dayforce automatically populates the Visibility field with Web Only and filters out the mobile forms. When mobile forms are supported in Experience Hub, the mobile visibility option is available.

Click Select to open the Form/Guided Process dialog box, and select or search for a form. Home forms and HR Action forms are organized by category, and you click the triangle arrows to view details and select a form.

External link: Link to a web page.

You need to select All, Web only, or Mobile app only in the drop-down list in the Visibility field.

Note: URLs must start with http:// or https://.

Learning Course: To add a link to an active internal or e-learning course in the Learning module. You can search for a course or choose from the listed courses. Add a title. Learning courses are currently only available on the web application, so the visibility is web only by default.

Note: If a course has expired or been removed in Dayforce an error message appears. You then must edit the widget to remove the course and, if needed, add a new learning course.

Title Enter the title that you want to appear under or beside the Featured Links graphic (if included).
Description Enter the description that will appear under or beside the Featured Links graphic (if included).
    Graphic

Icon: The Dayforce feature icon, a default file, a link icon, or form icon.

Image: Lets you select an image from the Hub Media Library. Featured Links images must have a 16:9 fixed aspect ratio. When an image meets this requirement, the Select button is enabled to choose the image, otherwise you must crop your image with the cropping tool in the dialog box before selecting it. Dayforce saves cropped images as new files, and the original images aren’t altered. For more image recommendations and details see Media.

  9. Click Add to add another link.
  10. Click Move Up and Move Down to arrange the links.
  11. Click OK to save the Featured Links and return to the page you’re editing.
