This topic describes the changes made to V2 reports in Dayforce to support Enhanced Employee Gender.
V2 reports are reports that are created in Dayforce using reporting topics. V2 reports can be created and maintained by customers, while V1 reports can’t be updated by customers after they’ve been created by a member of the Dayforce team.
New Enhanced Employee Gender Reporting Columns
Two new reporting topics have been added to Dayforce for Enhanced Employee Gender:
- Employee Assigned Sex
- Employee Gender Identity
Because an employee can now have multiple gender records, assigned sex and gender identity is shown in report outputs differently from how it was shown for the legacy Gender and Gender Identity fields.
An employee can have records in several different countries, different states in the United States, and different provinces in Canada, but each record is connected into one field with its relevant country, state, or province information, as shown in the following table.
Topic | Entity | Purpose | Example Output #1 | Example Output #2 |
---|---|---|---|---|
Employee Assigned Sex | Name | Shows the name of an employee’s assigned sex as per their records. | Male (UK) | Female (USA - CA), Female (USA) |
Compliance Code | Shows the externally used compliance code of an employee’s assigned sex as per their records. | M (UK) | F (USA - CA), F (USA) | |
Reference Code | Shows the internal reference code of an employee’s assigned sex as per their records. | M (UK) | F (USA - CA), F (USA) | |
Employee Gender Identity | Name | Shows the name of an employee’s gender identity as per their records. | Non-Binary (FR) | Non-Binary (USA - CA), F (USA - FL) |
Reference Code | Shows the internal reference code of an employee’s gender identity as per their records. | Non_Binary_FR (FR) | NB_CA (USA - CA), F (USA - FL) |
Enhanced Vs Legacy Columns
The legacy Gender and Gender Identity columns are still available in the Employee entity. These columns report only a singular value for an employee and have minimal capabilities.
Updated System Reports
The following system reports have been updated to support Enhanced Employee Gender. Each report has different requirements, and therefore a singular solution wasn’t implemented. In situations where the legacy Gender Identity field was used previously to determine an employee’s non-binary gender, this is still the case, but Dayforce might use the Assigned Sex field as a backup, depending on the report.
