Enhanced Employee Gender Playbook

Version
R2025.1.0
Confidential Information Updates

The Gender and Gender Identity drop-down lists have been replaced with a new Gender grid in the Personal > Confidential Information screen of People. With this change, administrators and managers can view and edit gender information on a per country, state, or province level. Using the Gender grid, administrators can also provide multiple gender records for each location an employee works at, lives in, or otherwise wants to be reported from.

Location and Appearance

Before Enhanced Employee Gender, the Gender and Gender Identity options were represented as single values in the employee’s record, and showed as drop-down lists.

After Dayforce Release 2025.1.0, gender is displayed in a grid such as the one shown for an example employee in Sweden. The new Enhanced Employee Gender Gender grid is located under the General section:

The Gender grid.

Tooltips

To make sure that customers have a straightforward experience, tooltips are included throughout the Gender grid. If customers are unsure why a certain piece of information is required or what it means, they can hover over the tooltip for details:

Gender-Specific Role Access Authorizations

In Dayforce Release 2024.2.0, new role access authorizations were added to allow for specific controls of gender information in the application. These permissions worked before Enhanced Employee Gender, but are more powerful now that Enhanced Employee Gender is available.

The changes to role access authorizations are:

Access Authorization - Basic Information

  • Name: Employee Profile - Confidential Information - Gender
  • Code Name: HRMS_CONFIDENTIAL_GENDER

Access Authorization - Previous Name

Previously, Gender was listed under Employee Personal Information.

Access Authorization - Access

  • Can Create: If enabled for a role, the role can create new records in the Gender grid. Read access is also needed to view a newly created record.
  • Can Read: If enabled for a role, the role can view existing records in the Gender grid.
  • Can Update: If enabled for a role, the role can update existing records in the Gender grid, assuming they also have read permissions to view records.
  • Can Delete: If enabled for a role, the role can delete existing records in the Gender grid, assuming they also have read permissions to view records.

Gender-Specific Role Features

In addition to new role access authorizations, additional role features have been provided to customers to control access to gender information in Dayforce. As with role access authorizations, these role features worked before the roll out of Enhanced Employee Gender, but now they offer additional functionality.

The changes to role features are:

Role Feature - Basic Information

  • Name: Gender
  • Path: Application Container > People > Employee Profile > Personal > Confidential Information > Gender

Role Feature - Access

With this role feature enabled, customers can see the Gender grid. Appropriate access authorizations are also required to see gender information.
