Before you can use Enhanced Employee Gender, you must analyze your existing configuration of Dayforce using a SQL script. The script lets you know whether you have any custom configuration that needs to be updated.
Although you can use the gender administration screen (HR Admin > Employee Gender Admin > Gender) without making these updates, some areas of the system won’t work in backward compatibility mode after you make configuration changes for enhanced employee gender. For example, custom assigned sex options, state, or province configuration, or country-specific configuration.

After you run the SQL script on your database, the script indicates one of the following outcomes:
- No Configuration Changes Needed. Go to Step 3 - Engage with Enhanced Employee Gender: Enhanced Employee Gender Features and Updates
- Configuration Changes Needed
