In the Engagement Setup > Surveys feature, you configure options and settings for employee surveys. You can view any open and scheduled surveys, configure new and draft surveys before they are published, and view past surveys that are now closed.
To create a survey:
- Go to Engagement Setup > Surveys.
- Click Add.
- Enter a name for the survey and select the survey type.

Available survey types Survey Type Typical Usage Onboarding Used for newly hired employees to assess happiness or gather information during or after the onboarding process. Stay Used to identify why current employees are choosing to stay with the company and help identify areas that the company could work to improve. Exit Used for employees who are voluntarily leaving the company to identify why they’ve chosen to leave and help identify areas that the company could work to improve. Pulse Used to gauge employee sentiment for specific topics such as company policies. Pulse surveys are typically short (one or two questions) so employees can complete them quickly with little interruption to their day. Engagement Used to assess employee happiness and identify areas that the company could work to improve. Other Used for several purposes, depending on your organization’s needs. - (Optional) Enter a short description of the survey in the Survey field.
- Select how to start creating the survey, from the listed options:
- Build from Scratch: Start by selecting system questions from the Question Library. You can modify them and add additional questions later.
- Click Add.
Localize the Survey
You can localize the survey name and description, if necessary. See Localize the Survey Name and Description.
Copy an Existing Survey
To copy an existing survey in any state:
- Go to Engagement Setup > Surveys.
- Click the action icon (
) on the survey card, and then click Copy. The Copy dialog box opens.
- (Optional) Update the values in the Name, Type, and Description fields.
- Click Copy.
- Update the survey configuration as required.
- Important: All of the survey options are copied to the new survey, including the organization structure and survey launch dates. It is important to ensure that this information is correctly updated for the new survey.
