Engagement Management

As a manager, you can review survey results in the Engagement feature.

Survey results that are assigned directly to you are displayed in the My Engagement tab. If you are assigned access to any surveys as an HR business partner, they are shown in the Business Partner tab.

Dayforce shows a list of any survey results to which you have access. The list includes a summary of key information about the survey, including its status and participation level. If the survey is configured to measure the Engagement Index and includes the associated Engagement Index category, summary information on the engagement index and engagement levels are also displayed.

Note: This information is displayed after results are published to you, during the survey or after it is closed.

The Participation percentage represents the number of respondents out of the total number of survey invitations sent to your team.

The Engagement Index is a question category that includes several questions that provide an indicator of overall employee engagement. The value represents the aggregated percentage of favorable responses to these questions from respondents. Favorable responses are Strongly Agree and Agree on the five point scale.

The Engagement Levels are calculated based on five questions in the survey that are included as part of the Engagement Index category. You can hover over the percentage amounts to see the actual count of respondents. The percentages represent the number of respondents that responded to these five questions as described below:

  • Engaged: Answered at least 80% of questions in the Engagement Index with favorable responses.
  • Under-Engaged: Answered at least 60% of questions in the Engagement Index with neutral or favorable responses.
  • Disengaged: Didn’t meet either of the requirements above.

Click a survey in the list to view more detailed information about the engagement survey results.

Select the Survey Results View

As a manager, you can view the results for all of your reports, or drill down to view the results for any management level below yours in the View drop-down list.

Note: Your level of access is configurable in Dayforce. You might also have been assigned access to management levels above yours in the organization.

By default, your view is set to My Team. To update the view, select a user from the organizational tree in the View drop-down list. Select either the Direct Reports or All Reports options to toggle between views.

If the survey is configured to show comparison results on the summary, select a value in the Comparison drop-down list to determine the comparison type:

  • Current Survey > Overall Organization: Dayforce shows the absolute change in percentage of favorable responses between the selected view for the current survey and the results of the overall organization.
  • Benchmarks > Survey TargetsDayforce shows the absolute change in percentage of favorable responses between the selected view for the current survey and the custom configured targets.
  • Past Surveys: Select a survey from the column on the right and Dayforce shows the absolute change in percentage of favorable responses between the selected view for the current survey and the past survey.
  • No Comparison > NoneDayforce doesn’t show any comparison data.

If you want to filter the results to only show responses that were submitted within a particular date range, you can enter a start date and end date in the Responses from fields.

Note: The Responses from filter respects the settings in the Data Anonymity tab of Engagement Setup > Surveys.
