Enable Role Features for Engagement

To enable role features for the Engagement feature and its related features, go to the Features tab of System AdminRoles.

Note: There are no role feature or notification subscription requirements for participants to receive Engagement survey notifications. Employees that are included in the organization hierarchy for a survey are included and will receive their invitation. If they should receive the invitation in Message Center, enable the feature as described below. See Enable the Message Center Feature.

Enable Engagement Features for Survey Administrators

Assign Administrators both the Engagement and Engagement Administration features to grant them access to all surveys. Administrators have access to the entire organization tree view as configured for each survey, and can view all results and comments that meet the configured thresholds.

Feature Description
Engagement

Enables the Engagement feature, which appears on the Home screen and navigation panel. In the Engagement feature, you can view a list of survey results that are available to you. The list includes a summary of key information about the survey, including its status, participation level, engagement index, and engagement levels. When you click a survey from the Engagement landing page, you can see all of the results and comments that you have access to that have been submitted.

Engagement > Allow export results

Enables access to the Export Results button in the Survey Results tab of Engagement.

Engagement > Engagement Administration

Provides the ability to review, edit and hide comments, and enables the Publish Results tab for surveys. You can view dynamic survey results as the survey is running. Access to this subfeature is needed to publish results and comments to managers at different organizational levels.

Engagement Setup > Question Setup Enables the Question Setup feature where you configure custom questions and categories, and can view system questions and categories.
Engagement SetupResults Setup

Enables the Results Setup feature where you configure how results across all surveys are displayed to eligible administrators and managers.

Includes the Heat Map Analysis, Key Segments, and Access tabs.

Note: It’s recommended you assign this feature to administrator roles only.

Engagement SetupSurveys Enables the Surveys feature where you create employee surveys and configure survey options and settings. You can view any open and scheduled surveys, configure new and draft surveys before they are published, and view past surveys that are now closed.

Enable Engagement Features for Managers

Managers don’t require access to the Engagement Administration subfeature, unless they are also a Survey Administrator.

Engagement

Enables the Engagement feature, which appears on the Home screen and navigation panel.

Engagement > Allow export results

Enables access to the Export Results button in the Survey Results tab of Engagement.

Enable the Message Center Feature

To access messages and notifications related to Engagement, users should be assigned access to Message Center. To ensure Engagement messages are sent as expected, you should enable Message Center for Administrators, Managers, and Employees.

To enable Message Center, select the Application Container checkbox, and the Messaging subfeature checkbox under it for each user role.
