In Engagement Setup, in the screen, you can enable or disable system key segments to control how survey results are broken down.
You can configure whether a key segment is shown in survey results by selecting or clearing the Active checkbox for the key segment. Active segments are shown with a green checkmark next to their name.
Key segments are shown in the Key Segment drop-down list in the Analysis tab for survey results in the Engagement feature. See Review the Survey Analysis.
Important: The key segments that are active at the time you publish a survey are used in that survey. You can’t change the configuration of the key segments for a survey after the survey is published. Any changes you make will only apply to future surveys.
To add a custom key segment:
- Go to Engagement Setup and click the screen.
- Click Add.
- In the Name field, enter a name for the key segment.
- Dayforce uses this name to generate the comparison code to identify the key segment. This code is shown in the Comparison Code field.
- Important: This field is automatically generated and can’t be edited until you save the key segment. When you edit a key segment, the Comparison Code field isn’t automatically updated if you change the Name field. The value in this field must be unique.
- In the Type field, select the type of key segment that you want to create. The option that you select determines the settings and criteria for that key segment. You can select from the following types:
- Age Band: These criteria define each age band. Dayforce is configured with system criteria values that you can use as is, or you can add, delete, or edit these values. See Configure Age Band Criteria.
- Department: You can configure criteria for groups of departments. See Configure Department Criteria.
- Organization: These criteria are dynamically included based on the organizations of eligible participants.
- Employee Property: These criteria are dynamically included based on the employee properties of eligible participants.
- Job Assignment: These criteria are dynamically included based on the job assignments of eligible participants.
- Employee: These criteria are dynamically included based on the employee properties of eligible participants.
- Business Unit: These criteria are dynamically included based on the business units of eligible participants.
- Select the Active checkbox to make the key segment visible in the Key Segment drop-down list in the Analysis tab for future surveys. To remove the key segment from the drop-down list, clear the checkbox.
- Note: Active segments are shown with a green checkmark next to their name.
- Click Save.
You can localize key segments, if necessary. See Localize Key Segments.
